the fact is the temperatures are a reflection of cold air that have settled in. so it looks nice and beautiful. it is a wonderful day but it's much colder than it has been. from pushing through the area. if the canadian blast of air in it will be a little breezy stay. it's definitely going to be a little cooler. 47 degrees right now. 32 out in oakland, 47 on the shore. you have to go to southern maryland to get the warmer temperatures. our forecast high today is 54 degrees. it could be a fleeting shower in some spots, but much like yesterday to sprinkles. penetrant sunny and cooler for the mistake. your complete forecast in just a moment. >> now let's take a look at the other stories people are talking about.

new details at about the man charged with killing a tsa agent at lax. police say heavy yet -- he had enough ammunition in his bag to kill everyone in that terminal. we speak to the agents grieving widow and report from w date -- from wjz from the scene. >> reporter: the widow spoke to the media saturday. >> he would've been 40 next week. i am truly devastated, and we are all heartbroken. >> the head of the tsa expressed his condolences on behalf of the agency. >> officer hernandes was the first employee killed in line of duty. >> federal prosecutors filed criminal complaints charging the 23 road with murder and the commission of violence at an international airport. investigators say a note reveals he specifically targeted tsa believes in friday's assault. >> he addressed them at one point in the letter and stated that he wanted to instill fear into

their traitorous minds. >> the fbi is reviewing video that shows his actions get the airport, but the agency is also asking the public to share digital media of the crime. >> airport police shot and wounded him ending the rampage. >> at this point, he is unresponsive and we are unable to interview him. >> he was not a ticketed passenger, but authorities are saying he dropped them off at the airport. if convicted, he faces the possibility of life without parole or even the death penalty. >> airport police said they recently practice their response for an event like this last week. >> to maryland state troopers recovering after their cruiser was struck during a robbery investigation. the collision happened early yesterday on a convenience store on route 152. investigators say the patrol car was flashing lights was hit

from behind. trina emery of edgewood was driving that car. the trooper was inside the vehicle at the time and another trooper jumped out of the cruiser and down an embankment to get out of the way. dr. say their injuries are minor . well, it started with an online advertisement. a man looking to buy a car for the purchase or own a tragic turn. anne arundel county police are investigating a homicide now. >> reporter: police continue searching for the shooter who they say used craigslist to find his victim. a craigslist deal turned deadly just before 8:00 p.m.. police responded to a shooting in the 7400 block of railroad avenue and harman. police found 44-year-old renee badly wounded. >> he was taken to the hospital and pronounced he suffered to a gunshot wound to his upper body. >> police say the victims saw

an ad on craigslist for a vehicle incident in this parking lot to meet the seller. but police say the suspects used the add two were the victim a secluded area. they say the suspect plan to rob the victim and shot him during the attempted robbery >> this is a very fluid investigation. >> the suspect got away and police are still looking for him. >> police if you're responding to an online advertisement, meet the seller in a high-traffic area during the day and bring someone with you. >> anyone with information about the shooting should call metro crimestoppers at 866-7-lockup. the healthcare.gov website is down for maintenance this morning. the website has been plagued with problems from the start. it was launched last month. now our government technology team is working to fix some of the bugs and problems this weekend. the site was down overnight and

should be back up in about an hour. >> the ravens in cleveland for late afternoon battle with their division rival. this is been a one-sided robbery over the last five years. >> well, for several years the cleveland browns have been a bad football team and the ravens get to play them twice a year. more tags do not, the ravens beat them. baltimore has beaten the browns 11 straight times. but that impressive winning streak is not an early -- has not been easy him. most of the games between these teams have been closely contested and the ravens expect the same in cleveland on sunday. >> every time we play them, you know, it's tough game. it's a physical game. they've run the ball must. they play great defense against us. it is always a fight. >> look at the last game.

32 in oakland, 50 on the shore, 46 in elkton. all right of on the mid-40 to about 50 degrees. 44 bel air, 48 columbia, 50 annapolis, and rock hall. winds coming in all double digits from the northwest. it's behind a front that's pushing through the region. it's kind of pushing across the central portion of the state. 10 mile-per-hour winds. a little bit brisk as he did to southern maryland. yesterday we got a few sprinkles in afternoon. pretty dry for most of the day. may not have been enough to put your windshield wipers on. but as this front continues to stay close by, you see these little patches of showers, a little rain here and there, but nothing that is really going to impact any of your plans today.

>> welcome back to eyewitness news sunday morning. the third day of november. it's the first full weekend of november. it has been a bit of an up and down. 68 degrees yesterday. we will be in the 50s today. a little below -- above normal, but drop into a little below normal. as you see, the sunshine is out. early morning, a few showers moving through the region because of a front moving through.

it's because of that front and the cold air that we are getting these temperatures dropping down. this cold shots is with us through tomorrow and then we warm up. 54 degrees now turning sunny and a little cooler than yesterday. 20 dying degrees tonight. the record is 25. and at 48 tomorrow, mostly sunny, and another chilly day, we will see in the 40s for your monday. your complete five-day first warning forecast in just a few moments. >> first, turning to some of the top headlines. police in north carolina are searching for several gunmen after shots are fired during homecoming weekend and north carolina anti-state university. officers for the caps on lockdown from 10:00 yesterday morning until short time ago. police say one or more suspects fired shots and then struck a 21-year-old student. a michigan man wants $25 million reward for osama bin laden stuff. 63-year-old tom lee of grand

rapids says he kicked off the fbi back in 2003 that bin laden was hiding compound back and panic -- in afghanistan. he's a u.s. citizen of egyptian descent and he says he learned of the location from a pakistani intelligence agent. it he says he will fight this in court in his final lawsuit. secretary of state john kerry makes a surprise visit to egypt. he says egypt can consider the u.s. a friend and partner that wants to see that country success. he also says suspension of more than a billion dollars in aid to egypt is not a punishment. ties between the two countries have deteriorated since the president was overthrown in july. washington has repeatedly urged the government to restrain from cracking down on the muslim brotherhood and its supporters carries on the first day of a nine-day trip to the mideast

and europe. >> new york senator chuck schumer endorses the former secretary of state hillary clinton in the race for the white house in 2016. clinton has not yet announced her candidacy. clinton, who is 66, says she will make up her mind next year although her political action committee is already raising money for possible presidential campaign. tragedy to triumph in boston. the victory parade for the world series champion red sox take the same path of the boston marathon surrounded by hundreds of thousands of fans. the players walked and rolled along the race route. the parade ended at the charles river when the duck boat took the water and motor along the shore.

underwater. >> maryland's fragile coastline is vanishing. each wave, each high tide carries a little more land back into the water. >> there are fewer and fewer days that we have much of the beach at all. >> placed the blame on climate change. wjz finds the ripple effects causing the sea level to rise in maryland at an alarming rate. >> what is interesting about maryland is that sea level rise is occurring three times faster than that of other locations. >> denise half is watching property disappearing before her eyes. hurricane isabel 10 years ago broke apart her bulkhead and now every storm steals more of her land. >> this is the type of eruption we would get without a bulkhead. it's just gradually working its way back.

>> maryland has the first longest coastline in the united states which adds up to more than 3000 miles vulnerable to rising water. >> here in maryland the coastline is thinking while sea level is rising. >> wjz obtained these maps showing how much land would be lost with only a 4-foot wide in sea level. much of lower cities dealing with this problem. >> flooding today on a more frequent basis could really be the high tide nothing in the future on a daily basis. >> nearly 600 acres of land the road in maryland every year. 13 islands have been lost. >> the lower eastern shore is perhaps our most vulnerable. the entire community. >> long-term that is bad news for maryland. by the end of the century with

temperatures on the brisk side. a little cool this morning. a lot of folks have been waiting for this fall snap, the crisp air. that's what you have today. sunshine some blue skies. there are some clouds but a lot of son. there could be a struggle or two out there, much like yesterday. widely scattered early on the clouds give way to son and it's a very nice day. temperature at bwi 48 degrees. it's 50 on the shore, 32 in oakland. yesterday we got to 68 degrees, today only 54. we turn sunny and cooler with overnight lows going down within about 4 degrees of a record. 29 degrees. the record is 25. will have your complete forecast in a few moments. >> thank you, tim. first, here's a look at the stories we're keeping an ion. the chilling chain of events in los angeles last week.

universe. what is the first man to orbit the earth, carpenter is the second. scott carpenter died earlier this month from complications of a stroke. he was 80 years old. heartbroken family and friends say they their last goodbyes to andrew hoffman. andrew hoffman was laid to rest after he and the girlfriend were shot to death inside his home last week. >> reporter: family and friends say andrew hoffman was the definition of a hero. rather than focusing on how he died, they would rather focus on how he lived. the blue line stands one short saturday as officers who well the casket andrew hoffman is carried inside the cathedral. >> it's a tragedy for the family but also a tragedy to the force. >> investigators say the killer

took his own life after shooting the pair. >> we just want answers. we want to know why. >> well family and friends try to make sense of this, his work family say they plan to remember him as the hero he was everyday. >> we use the word hero in this job, and sometimes that word is used loosely. however, in this case he is a hero. not only to us but some of his actions on the job. >> all -- hoffman awarded a medal in 2010 for rescuing a man in a fire on gilmore street and earlier this year interviewed for saving lost for your boy. while his loved ones cope with a life without him -- >> they have comfort in knowing that their son, their grandson, and a brother was truly spectacular. >> hoffman was a third- generation firefighter. back to you. >> about 900 people filled the

cathedral, and nearly half of them were city firefighters. a very sad story out of hagerstown. a two-month-old baby dead. the washington county sheriffs office says 22-year-old eugene morehouse faces manslaughter. they say she was highly intoxicated and passed out while trying to breast-feed her little girl. when she woke up, the baby was underneath her and unresponsive . medics say they died at hospital. police are now awaiting autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. the idea for a lab for the east coast is back. a new puzzle by a local investment is resurrecting the technology first considered in 2000 five baltimore mayor. the magnetic train travels at 311 miles per hour. the train would travel up and down the east coast. it stops in baltimore and at bwi thurgood marshall. the train will cost upwards of $10 billion.

it's definitely a brisk start your first sunday of november. looking at 40 degrees. 63 percent relative humidity. northwesterly wind at 10 miles per hour. 32 coal degrees in oakland. 46 in elkton, and 51 toward dc. around the immediate metro area, 45 and westminster and bel air. 48 in columbia, 50 in rock hall . these winds are coming in with double digits. 10 mile-per-hour winds across much of the top tier of the state. a little brisk toward dc at 15 miles per hour. and what we're dealing with here is a front that pushed through the region. it's creating a bit of a breeze. it's on the northern tier of this along the cold canadian air to settle in behind it. these widely scattered clusters of showers around.

they are drying out as high-pressure is dominating forecast. there will be some clouds because that moisture stays out there, so the clouds are a result of that. the cold air settling in. tonight very close to a record. 29 is our forecast. the record is 25 for the state. we stay in the 50s today, 40s tomorrow, and then we gradually one backup. there'll be a front moving in by thursday. that will bring us the chance for rain and then temperatures drop again after that. they just times for standard time, 5:02. small craft advisory in effect through tomorrow morning because of those winds. looking to be breezy and a little cooler than yesterday. then for tomorrow, 40, 57, 63, 68 with chance of showers on thursday and 54 degrees on friday.
